LIGHT CHEMICAL PEEL

Our light medical-grade chemical peel is a must for maintaining brightness and skin texture. This treatment works through gentle chemical exfoliation, prompting healthy regeneration, and giving a quick glow for any event! Peeling is not expected but can occur.

Our light chemical peels are tailored just for you by your RÖ SKIN Expert. Choosing from a refined selection, including Environ & Mesoestetic Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic, and Salicylic peels, we ensure the perfect match for your skin’s unique needs. Our gentle peels focus on preserving the epidermis while effectively stimulating collagen production in the dermis, evening the skin tone and killing bacteria in the skin. This process not only enhances the skin’s appearance, making it look younger and glowing but also feels comfortable during application.

Starting with a thorough cleanse to prepare your skin. A mild acid solution is then applied, working its magic for a few minutes to gently slough off the outermost layer of skin cells, unveiling the smoother, glowing skin beneath. Following the peel, a bespoke masque is applied, tailored to nourish and comfort the skin. This treatment, perfect for those on the go, offers chemical exfoliation without the downtime associated with deeper peels, earning it the nickname ‘the lunch-time peel’. While peeling is typically minimal to none, some light peeling may occur, signaling the rejuvenation process.

TCA PEELS

Trichloroacetic (TCA) peels are a type of chemical peel used to treat a wide range of skin concerns including signs of ageing, acne, sun damage, hyperpigmentation and scarring. At RÖ SKIN we offer Environ & Mesoestetic TCA peels which vary from light to medium strength. Depending on your goals and time-frame. This can be discussed upon consultation with your RÖ SKIN Expert.

TCA Peels can be used as part of an overall treatment plan incorporating the correct homecare. This holistic approach will lead to the most significant changes and ensure a healthy, strong beautiful skin for a lifetime.

We love the new Environ TCA Peel system which uses low strength acids that function on the surface of the skin. They are far less aggressive than usual TCA peels. In addition to low strength, the Ph is also kept low. These acids can safely be left on the skin for prolonged periods of time, where the acid will stress the keratinocyte cells to release various growth factors. These growth factors rejuvenate skin, promoting new collagen and elastin and creating a more youthful, thicker, healthier, and smoother skin.

Starting with a thorough cleanse to prepare your skin. TCA solution is then applied, working its magic for a few minutes to gently slough off the outermost layer of skin cells, unveiling the smoother, glowing skin beneath. Following the peel, a bespoke masque is applied, tailored to nourish and comfort the skin.

TCA peels improve visible signs of ageing, lines & wrinkles, texture, scarring, acne & congestion, oily skin, rosacea. It is especially designed for clients who wish to refine, revive, and brighten skin safely and effectively.

Is there any downtime?
Depending on the strength of your TCA peel there may be some downtime. This may or may not include the skin physically peeling, feeling dry and red and being sensitised. Pigmentation can be expected to go darker at first. You will receive verbal aftercare advice and an email to follow.

Is there anything I should do prior to my peel?
The 2-4 weeks leading up to your peel you skin will need to be prepped on vitamin A & C skincare to strengthen your skin, so you can achieve the best results and to improve the outcome of your treatment.

Will it hurt?
TCA peels don’t hurt but you will experience some discomfort such as tingling whilst it’s on.

It’s essential you start on some key essential home care products as:

  • It will optimise your results
  • It will ensure even penetration
  • It will reduce risk of adverse reaction or PIHP
  • It will encourage cell turnover
  • It will start to treat the problem
  • It introduces the skin to quality result-lead ingredients

After care:
It’s vital you let the skin heal itself. No standing over hot stoves or clothes that will rub on the area such as a scarf. Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure. Avoid waxing in treated areas for 2 weeks of post-treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
We recommended 3-6 sessions, every 2-4 weeks for optimum results.

What results can I expect to see and how soon?
After a light TCA peel, your skin appears firmer, brighter and more even in texture and tone. Hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine lines and shallow scars are lightened. It’s recommended to complete the full course for optimum results. Some clients find they notice a difference from the initial one, this does depend on the severity of the concerns being treated.

COSMELAN

The cosmelan peel treats hyperpigmentation and melasma, which is a stubborn condition that is common for many people. This can often be caused by hormones, medication, sun damage or possibly trauma to the skin.

The combination in the peel impedes the formulation of abnormal skin pigments and breaks them down. It can be used to help with superficial hyperpigmentation and dull skin with uneven skin tone.

The cosmelan peels work to target the cells responsible for pigmentation; by targeting the melanin, it reduces and will lighten the treated area helping to even the skin tone and reduce the appearance of discolouration.

In this treatment, a chemical peel is used on the targeted areas because it contains inhibitors that will have a depigmenting effect. It also renews the epidermis by increasing the thickness and lightening the skin with the solution in the peel.

The Azelaic acid within the peel kills bacteria and promotes new skin cell production, whilst Kojic acid inhibits melanin production in the skin. The Cosmelan Peel also decreases the skin’s natural melanin production by inhibiting an enzyme (tyrosinase), providing an even and smooth complexion.

The treatment will commence with one pre-peel, one treatment peel and a home care system. From start to finish it is a total of a years treatment plan. Throughout the treatment, you will experience peeling, redness and tenderness. This will last around 6-8 weeks as the skin is shedding and eliminating the pigmented skin cells. It’s the best treatment for treating stubborn pigment, particularly melasma (also know as the pregnancy mask).

If you have stubborn pigment that nothing else has touched, then this is the treatment for you!

When will I see results?
Seven days after the treatment results can already be seen. Pigmentation will have faded, and your skin’s overall texture will be improved due to increased collagen production and skin hydration. Two months after the treatment, you can expect long-term changes in your skin’s pigmentation, texture, tone and luminosity. It’s important to maintain a strict skincare routine to achieve optimal results

What’s involved in the Cosmelan package?
Stage 1: DE-PIGMENTATION Skin Preparation Kit

Your treatment programme starts at home with the following essential Hero Products to cleanse, treat, repair and protect. This is a must and has to be done prior to your Cosmelan treatment.

These products are designed to prepare your skin prior to your treatment. You must be on this two weeks prior to your treatment.

Why should I use this pack?

  • It will optimise your results
  • It will ensure even penetration
  • It will reduce risk of adverse reaction or PIHP
  • It will encourage cell turnover
  • It will start to treat the problem
  • It introduces the skin to quality result-lead ingredients

Stage 2: After using your home care kit for 2 weeks we will then do a prep peel. This is to ensure your skin is prepped ready for the cosmelan treatment and start to de-pigment the skin.

Stage 3: Approx 48hrs after your prep peel, we then will do the main cosmelan treatment. The cosmelan peel is applied and will need to be kept on the skin for 8hours. It will then need to be removed with warm water and a soft flannel. After removing, apply the melan recovery cream.

Things to keep in mind whilst the peel is on:

  • The peel is a dark brown colour so you won’t want to be going out for the day.
  • It’s really important you don’t knock it or take it off prior to the 8hrs.
  • Set an alarm when to take it off to ensure procedure is followed.
  • Avoid any sun exposure.

Stage 4 : Follow up (48hrs after your cosmelan treatment)

You will then come in for a checkup after your peel for us to monitor your skin. You’ll also then receive some new products to incorporate into your routine and further your results. The Cosmelan Two – This process is started 48 hours post the in-clinic mask (Cosmelan One) and is recommended to be used three times daily in the first month. Twice daily in the 2nd and 3rd month and once in the evening in the 4th month. It is VITAL that you follow our pre, during and post procedure aftercare advice following your Cosmelan peel. Not doing so can greatly affect your final results and may harm your skin.

From day 4 – 4 weeks you will be peeling, red and sensitive. This is totally normal.

Follow up appointment will need to be booked- 4 weeks after the peel we will then assess the skin again.

After month 2&3 you should be through the worst phase of peeling ,redness and sensitivity. This is when you reduce the cosmelan 2 to just twice a day.

After care:

Avoid any picking, pulling or removing loose skin, it’s vital you let the skin heal itself. No standing over hot stoves or clothes that will rub on the area such as a scarf. Avoid chlorine for 2 weeks post-peel. Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure. Avoid waxing in treated areas for 2 weeks of post-treatment. No use of glycolic, retinol or scrubs for 30 days post-procedure.

Why is it so important to follow correct aftercare?
The preparation phase and home care process of Cosmelan® Two maintenance cream is continued to allow the melanocyte to stop producing the same abnormal production of melanin and continue to not produce this by its self. If this is not followed for the recommended amount of time the hyper-pigmentation will most likely return as the melanocyte will start producing the same hyper-pigmentation. By over usage of Cosmelan Two® and not continuing or following our home care protocols, side effects can start to happen. We also cannot guarantee or cover any clients who have purchased Mesoestetic® homecare products from an unauthorised retailer i.e online sites or unlicensed clinics. We cannot guarantee the authenticity of these products so cannot continue to treat you.

This package includes your initial prep kit, prep peel, cosmelan treatment and post cosmelan 2
