Chemical Peels in Stamford & Peterborough

Our skin renews and regenerates naturally every 28 days, but with time and at certain times of life, this process becomes irregular and slower; provoking the appearance of skin alterations: acne, shine, dilated pores, wrinkles, dull tone, pigmentation spots, etc. We offer chemical peels in the most safest and effective ways. Depending on your concern, your aesthetic practitioner will carefully choose the best one for you. This could be from Environ, Mesoestetics or DMK.

MESOESTETIC CHEMICAL PEELS

Mesoestetics Peels are the most advanced range of superficial to deep chemical peels designed for skin rejuvenation. We use a range of Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids at different concentrations and combined formulas aimed at specific skin indications.

The peeling action causes the elimination of the external layers of the skin, acting on different depths of the skin, stimulating collagen and refining the skin. Following a full assessment of the condition, type and requirements of your skin.

It is a procedure designed to provoke accelerated skin regeneration in a controlled manner through the application of chemexfoliation agents (peels). The peeling action causes the elimination of the external layers of the skin, while acting on different depths of the skin to stimulate collagen production helping with scarring, textural and ageing concerns.

With thorough prep we can treat anything from pigmentation, acne, rosacea and the start of age management to severely aged skin. There’s a peel for everyone, or if you’re wanting your healthiest skin these peels really work to every layer. They’re versatile, adaptable and suitable for everyone.

What results will I see?
Whether your concern is active acne, breakouts or scarring, or whether you are just looking to feel fresher and brighter, even younger, your skin will be smoothed, refined, less congested with less wrinkles.

Is there any downtime?
Soon after a peel, the skin can appear quite pink and in most cases the skin may feel sensitive although these effects might be less noticeable with each repeated treatment. The skin can experience peeling or flaking a couple of days after the treatment. The therapist always finishes the treatment with an SPF and strict home-care advice.

How many treatments will I need?
Usually a course of six treatments is recommended at 3-4 week intervals for optimum results. But this can be discussed and reviewed throughout your treatments.

ENVIRON LACTIC PEELS

Environ’s Cool Peel Technology works to support the natural processes of healthy skin. This ultimately helps refine, revive, smooth and rejuvenate skin without compromising its natural functions.

Environ’s peeling formulations are of low percentage and low pH. This results in an effective peeling treatment that is very gentle on the skin. It preserves as much of the epidermis as possible. Scientifically formulated, this technology feels cool and comfortable when applied to the skin. It also stimulates the fibroblasts in the dermis to increase the quantity of collagen, which helps to improve the appearance of ageing, and sun-damaged skin.

  • Helps improve the visible signs of ageing and softens the texture of the skin.
  • Helps improve the texture and appearance of oily, blemish-prone skin.
  • Helps to refine, revive and reveal radiantly youthful-looking skin.

Environ Cool Peel Technology is a fully customisable system that a trained skincare professional can control throughout the treatment. Peels can be very mild and gentle for first time users. This treatment can also be intensified to become a more advanced experience if the skin requires it. So it’s suitable for everyone!

Is there any downtime?
No! During your Environ peel, you may experience a warm, tingling sensation, however most clients experience no discomfort. After your peel, your skin may feel tight and slightly warm. The most your skin will feel is slightly sensitised for up to 48hrs but this does pass.

ROSACEA ENVIRON PEEL

Typically diagnosed by broken capillaries, flushed cheeks, warm skin and perhaps pustules. It really is a tricky condition to manage but with the right treatment we can certainly control the flare ups. Rosacea tends to start off looking like a flushed skin but can progress to be inflamed, sensitive and even pustules begin to show. Environ have created a cool peel system to help keep rosacea at bay. Although there’s no proven cause or permanent treatment for rosacea this is the best way to keep it under control.

Although rosacea is a stubborn condition to treat and often flares up from time to time, environ’s cool peel system is truly the best for keeping it at bay. We recommend a course of treatments to reduce redness and to help kill bacteria that can cause papules and pustules.

COSMELAN

Cosmelan® is the world’s leading hyperpigmentation treatment, with over 1 million delivered to date. Professional and intensive, Cosmelan® is designed to eliminate or reduce dark spots of melanic origin on skin, while unifying the skin tone and enhancing skin luminosity.

Cosmelan encourages accelerated cell turnover, which forces present pigment cells to the surface, where they are ‘sloughed’ away.

The treatment will commence with one pre-peel, one treatment peel and a home care system. From start to finish it is a total of a years treatment plan. Throughout the treatment, you will experience peeling, redness and tenderness. This will last around 6-8 weeks as the skin is shedding and eliminating the pigmented skin cells. It’s the best treatment for treating stubborn pigment, particularly melasma (also know as the pregnancy mask).

If you have stubborn pigment that nothing else has touched, then this is the treatment for you!

When will I see results?
Results can be seen after one, complete treatment. For deeper pigmentation, a top-up treatment may be required after one year.

What’s involved in the Cosmelan package?
Stage 1: DE-PIGMENTATION Skin Preparation Kit

Your treatment programme starts at home with the following essential Hero Products to cleanse, treat, repair and protect. This is a must and has to be done prior to your Cosmelan treatment.

These products are designed to prepare your skin prior to your treatment. You must be on this two weeks prior to your treatment.

Why should I use this pack?

  • It will optimise your results
  • It will ensure even penetration
  • It will reduce risk of adverse reaction or PIHP
  • It will encourage cell turnover
  • It will start to treat the problem
  • It introduces the skin to quality result-lead ingredients

Stage 2: After using your home care kit for 2 weeks we will then do a prep peel. This is to ensure your skin is prepped ready for the cosmelan treatment and start to de-pigment the skin.

Stage 3: Approx 48hrs after your prep peel, we then will do the main cosmelan treatment. The cosmelan peel is applied and will need to be kept on the skin for 8hours. It will then need to be removed with warm water and a soft flannel. After removing, apply the melan recovery cream.

Things to keep in mind whilst the peel is on:

  • The peel is a dark brown colour so you won’t want to be going out for the day.
  • It’s really important you don’t knock it or take it off prior to the 8hrs.
  • Set an alarm when to take it off to ensure procedure is followed.
  • Avoid any sun exposure.

Stage 4 : Follow up (48hrs after your cosmelan treatment)

You will then come in for a checkup after your peel for us to monitor your skin. You’ll also then receive some new products to incorporate into your routine and further your results. The Cosmelan® Two – This process is started 48 hours post the in-clinic mask (Cosmelan® One) and is recommended to be used three times daily in the first month. Twice daily in the 2nd and 3rd month and once in the evening in the 4th month. It is VITAL that you follow our pre, during and post procedure aftercare advice following your Cosmelan® peel. Not doing so can greatly affect your final results and may harm your skin.

From day 4 – 4 weeks you will be peeling, red and sensitive. This is totally normal.

Follow up appointment will need to be booked- 4 weeks after the peel we will then assess the skin again.

After month 2&3 you should be through the worst phase of peeling ,redness and sensitivity. This is when you reduce the cosmelan 2 to just twice a day.

After care:

Avoid any picking, pulling or removing loose skin, it’s vital you let the skin heal itself. No standing over hot stoves or clothes that will rub on the area such as a scarf. Avoid chlorine for 2 weeks post-peel. Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure. Avoid waxing in treated areas for 2 weeks of post-treatment. No use of glycolic, retinol or scrubs for 30 days post-procedure.

Why is it so important to follow correct aftercare?
The preparation phase and home care process of Cosmelan® Two maintenance cream is continued to allow the melanocyte to stop producing the same abnormal production of melanin and continue to not produce this by its self. If this is not followed for the recommended amount of time the hyper-pigmentation will most likely return as the melanocyte will start producing the same hyper-pigmentation. By over usage of Cosmelan Two® and not continuing or following our home care protocols, side effects can start to happen. We also cannot guarantee or cover any clients who have purchased Mesoestetic® homecare products from an unauthorised retailer i.e online sites or unlicensed clinics. We cannot guarantee the authenticity of these products so cannot continue to treat you.

This package includes your initial prep kit, prep peel, cosmelan treatment and post cosmelan 2 kit | £950

Trichloroacetic (TCA) peels are a type of chemical peel used to treat a wide range of skin concerns including signs of ageing, sun damage, hyperpigmentation and scarring. TCA peels are most commonly performed at medium strengths which require some downtime, but offer significant improvements to the skin’s appearance.

After you’ve prepped the skin with home-care we will get you in to clinic for your first prep peel. This is so we can make sure the skin is in optimal condition for the TCA. We will repeat the process of the prep peel 2-4 weeks after. Once your aesthetic practitioner is happy that your skin is strong and well prepped we can do the the TCA peel. Four weeks later you would then need to repeat the TCA peel.

TCA peels gradually penetrate the skin to treat moderate to severe skin aging, pigmented lesions, and medium-depth acne scars.

Is there any downtime?
A TCA peel does require up to 7-10 days downtime. This will include the skin physically peeling, feeling red and being sensitised. Pigmentation can be expected to go darker at first. You will receive verbal aftercare advice and an email to follow.

Is there anything I should do prior to my peel?
The weeks or months leading up to your procedure usually required a pre peel regimen as determined by your aesthetic practitioner, to improve the outcome of your treatment.
If you regularly use retinoid creams or medications, you will be asked to discontinue them because they can cause the TCA to penetrate too deeply into the skin.

Will it hurt?
TCA peels don’t hurt but you will experience some discomfort such as tingling and a hot sensation whilst it’s on.
